The biggest Cloud carnival has started & as expected the opening day of Dreamforce was amazing. DF19 started with a classic keynote by the Co-CEOs Mark Benioff & Keith Block followed by hundreds of sessions, workshops, activities, live music in the Dreamforest and a compass of learning. The day was action-packed and it was clearly visible that Salesforce is slowly moving towards disrupting the AI technology.
Here are the highlights from the first day of #DF19;
Keynote – Trailblazers Together
The much-awaited opening keynote sprang with a loud cheer for the Trailblazers and the amazing community including the partners and customers. Co-CEO Keith Block said “The most important thing I can do is thank you for all you do. Thank you for inspiring and motivating us for over 20 years. What we’ve created together is incredible.” The keynote featured inspiring individual trailblazers like Sheldon Simmons as well as trailblazing companies like Louis Vuitton and State Farm Insurance.
The keynote was focused on the Trailblazers and how Salesforce is driving digital transformation and how we can build a connected and smarter Customer 360 together and how we can enable a single source of truth. Taking on this, Chairman & Co-CEO Marc Benioff said “That is why we’re here as Trailblazers: to improve the state of the world with trust, customer success, innovation, and equality,”
Customer 360 Truth & Einstein Voice Skills
The highlights of the opening keynote were two big announcements; Customer 360 Truth & Einstein Skills. Looking at the importance of data and its significance in today’s business, Customer 360 Truth will consolidate all the data points to build a single view of the customer. Having a single source of truth of the customers will enable enterprises to offer personalized services and drive relevant experiences at every touchpoint.
Einstein has been one of Salesforce’s flagship products since its launch in 2016. Salesforce customers have been using Einstein to get insights. Now Salesforce has taken its AI to the next-level with Einstein Voice Skills. With Einstein’s new voice capabilities, Salesforce will empower admins and developers to build voice skills using clicks, not code. With Einstein Voice Skills every company can build voice solutions.
Welcome Tableau
Tableau – the #1 analytics solution has officially joined the Salesforce family. Tableau CEO Adam Selipsky joined Marc on the stage for the very first time and discussed Tableau and Salesforce’s shared passion for customer success and digital transformation.
The Importance of Diversity & Soft Skills in Building the Future Workplace
Chief Technology Community Officer at the Kapor Center Lili Gangas and Co-Founder and CEO of Pymetrics Dr. Frida Polli discussed the role of AI & the constant challenge of reskilling that the workforce faces. Dr. Polli believes that with growing AI, we need to look more at people for their soft skills and their potential. “Once we find the right balance between historical jobs and new industries — and train people — that’s the way to go.”
Apple CEO Tim Cook joined Marc at the Stage
Apple CEO Tim Cook joined Marc Benioff to discuss the role of mobile in the enterprise and the intersection of innovation and values, such as equality, sustainability, and privacy. Hours before the Dreamforce, Salesforce has announced its new applications for iOS and enhanced Mobile SDK. Tim & Marc discussed the importance of app development for business.
Building a Better World Together
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are front and center at Dreamforce 2019. U.N. Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of U.N. Women Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka discussed the importance of SDGs, and the progress we’re making against them. Phumziletalked about gender equality that spans all 17 goals. She stressed that when we don’t empower women economically, we’re actually leaving a lot of money on the table. 3.5 billion women around the world are not empowered, nor have their rights protected to hold the same jobs as men — thus they cannot be economic citizens. However, with the SDGs in place and by collaborating, we can make a change.
The Salesforce Trailblazer Community already knows that we’re not just here to transform the way the world does business; we’re here to make the world a better place. Together, we can serve our stakeholders, empower each other to build deeper relationships with customers, and be in the business of doing well by doing good.
Stay tuned for all the actions of Day 2.
